Meet Mrs. Lacey Newton!

Mrs. Lacey Newton

Mrs. Lacey Newton graduated in May 2020 with her master's degree in Professional School Counseling from Utah State University. She completed her internship with Mrs. Ericksen during the 2019-2020 school year and did her practicum with Mr. Crittenden (NS elementary) in Spring 2019. Mrs. Newton was also a fellow for the American Psychological Association in which she completed extensive training in substance prevention and race & minority relations.

Mrs. Newton grew up in Willard, Utah and graduated valedictorian from Box Elder High School in 2012. She then went on to be an ambassador and study Behavioral Sciences with an emphasis in Sociology at Utah Valley University (GO WOLVERINES!) where she met her husband, Kyler who graduated from North Summit High School in 2012.

She worked as a recruiter for the Office of Admissions at Utah State University during the time that she was working on her graduate studies in school counseling. Mrs. Newton has wanted to become a school counselor ever since she worked as an ambassador at UVU. She loves working with students and is passionate about mental health education. She is also very passionate about college and career awareness and helping students achieve ANYTHING they want to be!

School counselors are licensed educators with a minimum of a master's degree in school counseling, making them uniquely qualified to address all students' academic, career, and social/emotional development needs by designing, implementing, evaluating, and enhancing a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes and enhances student success.
